Planet Unknown: The Final Stretch

Reflecting on the past 14 weeks I've found this major project to be an extremely fun, educational and rewarding experience. Learning how to manage a team and schedule a project in addition to utilising and developing my skills as a programmer have been valuable lessons that I will take into future projects.

Coming into our final week of production Planet Unknown will receive its final touches before doing our final release on Itch.io. These final touches will include,

- All placeholders removed and all finalised art assets in engine

- Final cutscene and game sounds implemented

- Background parallax filled

- Final art passes

- Final mechanic and code reviews/bug sweeps and polish

We are also hoping to release an executable for Mac and a short trailer for Planet Unknown that will be uploaded to the same Itch.io page. The final build will contain the functioning main, option and in-game menus, opening and closing cutscene and one playable level. We unfortunately had to scale down our scope from two levels to one due to time constraints and have been focusing on releasing one polished and engaging experience.

Comparing the first test build of Planet Unknown to its most recent iteration, its astonishing what can be accomplished within a short time frame and the creations that can come out of it.
